The main event in Riva del Garda is the “Around the World in 80 Days”.
Fairytales, shows and animations with fireworks end. It takes place every last weekend of August. There’s a sommer night when Riva wears coloured dresses to celebrate a kind of story which has been continuing for decades.

The sky, the mountains, the lake water, the streets and the people get animated: they repeat the novel of such a beautiful place, beyond fantasy. The event has ancient origins: Riva used to wear feast dresses already in the 19th century. People descended into the places, on their lake to animate plays, lights, events and music. The will of celebrate was broken off by the beginning of the world conflicts. The Fairy tale night immediately started during the post-war period.
In Riva del Garda, like all over the world, everyone only wanted to forget and have good time.
In the past years various committees worked to give a different mark to this event, only saving the fireworks show. Todays there’s a single committee for the organization of the Fairy tale night, doing its best to let the last weekend of August be always more spectacular and amusing, particularly for children.
The ways in the center are decorated and animated thanks to the giant scenografy, performing the principal tales’scenes and characters. The scenografies are set on the ideal path walked by the actors of the Compagnia delle Arti, which accompany children and parents to discover the fairy tale.
Performances, concerts, animations and routes together with costume dressed characters, music and plays. Saturday night on the lake there’s a big fireworks show; lights and colours facing our Hotel Residence Bellavista.
